Clarice Benini (8 January 1905, Florence - 8 September 1976, Poggio a Vico, Rufina) was an Italian chess master.〔(La grande storia degli scacchi )〕 She finished second in the Women's World Championship at Stockholm 1937, behind Vera Menchik but ahead of Sonja Graf, Milda Lauberte, Mary Bain, Mona May Karff, and others.〔(Women in Chess - 1937 - Chess.com )〕 She was the two-time Italian Champion, winning at Milan 1938 and Rome 1939.〔Adriano Chicco; Antonio Rosino.
